Traditional Orthodontic Treatment for Reliable Results
Braces offer an affordable, long-lasting, and proven way to straighten teeth and enhance oral function. They effectively address various orthodontic issues involving both teeth and jaws.
These are some of the reasons why braces are often considered such a great orthodontic option for children.
Most children requiring orthodontic treatment for misaligned teeth or jaws typically begin using braces between the ages of 11 and 13, once all their permanent teeth have emerged.
In rare cases, kids as young as seven may be candidates for braces. We use braces on children with baby teeth only when necessary to create space for adult teeth to erupt in the proper positions, correct crossbites, or correct specific functional issues.

Consultations & Monitoring for Children
Children should visit the orthodontist for the first time around the age of seven for an orthodontic consultation. This visit will allow us to determine whether any orthodontic treatment is needed.
If this is the case, then we will begin with orthodontic treatment. If not, we offer free assessment appointments every six to 12 months until your child is ready for braces.
Features of Braces for Kids
If you are a parent thinking about braces for your child, it's important to know that braces have evolved since you were a kid. Here's how:
Comfortable & Efficient
Getting braces marks an important milestone in your child’s dental health journey and their life. For many kids, braces symbolize a rite of passage, and it’s completely normal to feel anxious about the process.
Kids who might feel a bit unsure about getting braces will be happy to hear that innovations in orthodontics have made traditional braces much more effective at correcting misalignments than ever before. This means shorter treatment times for kids today, making the journey much smoother!
Streamlined Appearance
Not very long ago, braces were bulky and sharp, often accompanied by headgear. Today, traditional metal braces are much smaller and lighter, designed with comfort and effectiveness in mind. An additional bonus is that braces typically only need to be adjusted every four to six weeks!
